The purpose of Surrey School District School Library Program is to provide instruction, resources and services that facilitate lifelong appreciation and involvement with literature and learning.
School libraries are to:
- Provide access to appropriate library and learning resources that support the curriculum
intended,
- Encourage recreational reading
intended to be responsive to the student and teacher needs while meeting district and ministry requirements
to provide library instruction, resources and services which support active learning,
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to assist with the acquisition of literature appreciation and information processing skills.
