Library Program

The purpose of Surrey School District School Library Program is to provide instruction, resources and services that facilitate lifelong appreciation and involvement with literature and learning.

School libraries are to:

  • Provide access to appropriate library and learning resources that support the curriculum intended,
  • Encourage recreational reading intended to be responsive to the student and teacher needs while meeting district and ministry requirements to provide library instruction, resources and services which support active learning,
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to assist with the acquisition of literature appreciation and information processing skills.
