Integrated Studies

Grades 8 - 9

This program involves the same teachers for English and Social Studies 8 and 9. It incorporates linear scheduling, interdisciplinary, multiple intelligence curriculum and an enhanced sense of community amongst students and teachers.

The goal of the program is to offer the above features while maintaining access to a full range of high school opportunities and electives.

The educational philosophy of the program focuses on developing the creative artistic ability of students while enhancing academic excellence. The principles of student choice, self-directed learning and a holistic perspective guide program development. Multiple age groups are an organizational feature when appropriate and/or feasible. Co-curricular and community involvement are a natural extension of the program.
