French Immersion programs are intended to develop fluency in French leading to functional bilingualism. The French Immersion program is offered for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12.

• Late French Immersion

  7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, Jessie Lee Elementary
  7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, Sunrise Ridge Elementary

How To Register

There are two French Immersion programs available, with varying registration methods:

• Early French Immersion (Grades K - 7): For students entering Kindergarten.
• Late French Immersion (Grades 6 & 7): For students entering Grade 6.

For students not entering Kindergarten or Grade 6 who wish to register, please contact the school directly. A list of elementary schools offering the program can be found in the links above.

Please note that registration for French Immersion is done on a first come, first served basis.

Secondary Students

French Immersion continues into the secondary level (Grades 8 to 12) at the following schools:

• Earl Marriott
• Kwantlen Park
• Lord Tweedsmuir
• Panorama Ridge

Representatives from the secondary schools make visits to the Grade 7 classes of both Early and Late French Immersion to discuss the Grade 8 program. They will have special French Immersion registration forms with them for students who wish to register at the secondary level.
