French Immersion Home Programs & Objectives Secondary Level
Schools Registration

The Secondary French Immersion program is offered in four Secondary schools: The North end of the District is serviced by École Kwantlen Park. In the Central area, the program is offered at École Panorama Ridge Secondary. École Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary serves Secondary Immersion students in the East of Surrey and École Earl Marriott Secondary is the program for the South zone.

In Secondary school, the students work with the prescribed BC Ministry of Education curriculum with a number of courses being delivered in French.

Overview: Grades 8 - 10

During grades 8, 9 and 10 pupils enrolled in French Immersion receive half of their education in French (4 courses out of a total of 8). Here is a brief list of the subjects offered at the junior high level (availability depends on enrollment and specific school offerings):

  • Français Langue
  • Humanities
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Physical Education
  • Planning 10

Overview: Grades 11 - 12

During the Grade 11 and Grade 12 school years, students enrolled in French Immersion take 25% of their classes in French.
