The Surrey School District makes its facilities and grounds available for filming and storage/parking of film equipment and vehicles with the understanding that school programs - day or night - will not be disrupted.
Commercial filming, including use of both grounds and schools by film companies, is governed by the district's Regulation 10800.3. The regulation includes rates, terms and conditions, and insurance requirements.
Scouting: To Locate a Site for Filming
Locations personnel interested in scouting Surrey School District schools for the purposes of filming, must first contact the Business Development department at 604-501-8551.
Once the Business Development department has approved the proposed scouting and alerted schools to be scouted, scouts may proceed to identified schools for a site tour and to take preliminary still photography shots at no cost. Filming staff must identify themselves at the school office, wear a visitor badge, and receive permission from the school administration to view specific areas.
Scouts may wish to begin their search by browsing the list of district schools, which provides a picture of the school and location information.

Once a school has been identified as a potential filming location, please fill out an application to film:

Access to grounds and buildings will only be provided when the following have been received by the Business Development department:
- A signed contract
- Payment in full of the contract
- A damage deposit (amount to be determined based on the filming request)
- Copy of satisfactory insurance documentation (refer to Regulation 10800.3, section 9.12)
- Copy of script
Damage Deposit
The damage deposit cheque will be held by the district until a comprehensive inspection of the site used can be completed by the district following the last day of filming. The cost of any and all repairs required to return the site to its original condition prior to filming will be covered by the lessee and by the damage deposit cheque provided. If the cost of repairs is less than the deposit supplied, the balance will be returned to the lessee following the completion of all repairs. If the cost of repairs is greater than the deposit supplied, the lessee will be invoiced immediately for the balance.
