Research and Evaluation Department

The Research and Evaluation Department promotes the use of research to improve evidence-based practice and sound decision making. We work within educational practice and theory to support the district mandate to improve student learning.

The Research and Evaluation Department

  • conducts ethical reviews of research applications and supports applicants through the research process
  • supports district initiatives and school board goals with data and evaluation services and statistical support
  • writes and disseminates research; encourages evidence-based practice
  • coordinates district-wide action research projects; provides ongoing support to action research teams
  • facilitates School Planning Council sessions; supports data use for school growth plans
  • improves research literacy through workshops, touchback sessions and dialogue

The Leadership for Learning Journal showcases recent action research projects.

Research Currents present a summary of research on key educational issues.
