Choice Programs
 


The Surrey School District offers several "Programs of Choice" that provide unique settings for students.

All options are compatible with the B.C. curriculum and lead towards Grade 12 graduation. There are no special fees and you do not need to live near the school, nor in the school district, to enroll.

Discovery Elementary K - 7 Discovery is a small, close-knit community based on the principles of Adlerian psychology: cooperation, encourgement and a holistic learning process. (604) 581-0611
Gifted Program K - 12 The district's gifted education programs allow gifted and highly able students the opportunity to work with their intellectual peers. (604) 596-9325
Heritage School K - 7 East Kensington Heritage School is a small school featuring a family atmosphere in a rural setting. Instruction includes traditional approaches and co-operative learning. (604) 541-1257
Integrated Studies

Intensive Fine Arts

Inter-A

7 - 12 Provides a context for consistent academics, the development of leadership and personal achievement skills, and work in cross-graded group environments. (604) 588-6934
International Baccalaureate 11 - 12 The two year International Baccalaureate program provides students with an opportunity to earn university course credits leading to preferred admission to university programs. (604) 536-2131

Montessori

K - 7 The Montessori program uses an integrated approach to the basic requirements of the public school system. Students learn in multi-age groups, and usually spend three years with the same teacher. Contact the school
PAPA: Program for Artists, Performers & Athletes 8 - 12 PAPA accommodates students who are in training programs for competition or performance. Athletes must be competing at a provincial or national level. (604) 590-2255
