    • ◊ Target Audience: teachers new to kindergarten
      Kindergarten learners are diverse individuals with a variety of linguistic, cultural, experiential backgrounds, as well as a range of learning profi les and interests. This session will present some frameworks and universal practices that teachers can use to design inclusive learning environments that support the overall development of young learners.
  • Nonfiction Reading Power (Part 2)
    Adrienne Gear — developed and implemented Reading Power
    September 2, 2010

    • Please join us for another day with Adrienne as she presents more practical lessons to support your students’ reading comprehension in the content areas. This session will begin with an overview of the key concepts of Reading Power. She will then focus on the last three Nonfiction strategies: Making Connections, Questioning /Inferring and Transforming your thinking (synthesize). Come to this session and leave with new lesson ideas, new book titles and a new “layer” to add to your reading program.
