Elgin Park's strong basketball program won another championship banner when the senior girls beat the Riverside Rapids in a closely contested game. Final score was 70 - 62.

The Orcas' Sarah Allison played a major role in the win, leading the scoring with 20 points in the first half. Allison also captured the tournament MVP prize.

Elgin Park distinguished itself with jump shots and team play. A crucial second quarter had the Orcas score 16 points. The Rapids pushed back in the third quarter but then the Orcas came back and ended the game strongly for the win.

After being defeated by the Rapids in both the 2008 and 2009 Fraser Valley AAA tournament finals, the Surrey team was happy to triumph over their rivals in this year's Fraser Valley tournament.
