Surrey school district science fair engages public at Guildford Town Centre

Over 400 budding young scientists converged on Guildford Town Centre mall on Friday, March 6 for the Surrey school district science fair for Grades 4 to 8.

Shoppers in the mall who wanted to pick up a new pair of pants also walked away with knowledge on a wide range of topics – from facts on the solar system, ants and the human brain, to how to make paper, or even which paper towel is the most absorbent according to science, or which natural household cleaner is best.

Common to all projects was the enthusiasm and commitment of students in sharing information that took them weeks of research and preparation.  And, at least for Morgan Elementary’s Ethan Rya, his project topic of the solar system was something he’s “researched all his life”.
