For the regionals, Mr. Dawson dubbed the school's web design team “The Earl Marriott Virtual Athletics Team." The team of 24 students even dressed in uniform, sporting official Earl Marriott Mariners jerseys.

Elgin Park students won two out of three medals in the junior gravity vehicle race. On top of the gold medal won by Baxfield and Chou, bronze was awarded to Nancy Peng, June Hung and Wendy Voehuest. Semiahmoo students won both gold and silver in the junior spaghetti bridge competition, with Audrey Lam, Inae Lee and Donna Lau grabbing silver.

An additional silver medal was won in the solar vehicle challenge by a team of students from Semiahmoo: Solomon Ahn, Ryan Cho, Scott Thiessen, Jordan Pousett, SyHun Lee, Shawn Baker, Shawn Webb and Mat Palmer.
