Overview
2920 (ELX 9) ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY 9
Prerequisite: None
This course includes both theoretical and practical components and is a good introduction for students interested in pursuing further studies in Engineering. Students will build two of the following projects:
- Electronic Siren
- Variable DC Power Supply
- Two minute Warning (Tormentor)
- Space Probe
- 110 Volt Strobe Light
Students will learn to solve basic series and parallel circuits using Ohm’s law as well as the fundamentals of power conversion. They will have an opportunity to become familiar with the use and care of such test equipment as the digital multimeter, oscilloscope and audio function generator. Students will also learn the basics of Multism computer circuit modeling. Assessment is based on tests and quizzes, along with practical work/work habits. Take it for fun or with an eye to Engineering, Robotics or Telecommunication.
