Main Project of 2008/2009:
To raise $8500 by June 2009 for building a school in Sierra Leone, Africa through the organization "Free the Children".

News:
Business Donations: Special Thank you and Congratulations to Navjot and Gaveena who took initiative to ask various local businesses for their support in our cause. They were able to raise $500!
Coin Drive: We held the second coin drive of the year from May 25th to May 29th 2009. 50% of the money raised will go towards our school in Sierra Leone, and the other 50% will go to Highland Houses, a Homeless Shelter in Surrey. Thank You to all who donated money, all who volunteered, and especially to Sonya and Saleha in Grade 8 who primarily organized the coin drive! Congratulations everyone, we raised a total of $870!
Awareness Month: May was Awareness Month here at FPSS. We hosted four awareness conferences through out the month. They were:

Thank you to all the guest speakers who took some time out of their busy schedules to share their amazing experiences and knowledge. Thank you to all the teachers who brought their classes to our conferences, all the classes who donated money, all the volunteers who helped out with the conferences! Congratulations everyone, we raised a total of $180!

Free the Children Leadership Workshop: Srimal Ranasinghe and Kristy Babalos from Free the Children hosted a leadership workshop on May 15th, 2009 for ReachOut members. Thank you to all that showed initiative and attended this workshop. Special thank you to Srimal and Kristy for encouraging and empowering our group.
West Fest: Free the Children has come to Vancouver and they celebrated the opening of their new office on May 14th, 2009. We were asked to make a poster displaying our club and our accomplishments which was posted at the entrance of the theatre. Those that attended we privileged to meet Craig Kielburger, Jessi Cruickshank, and Michel Chikwanine!
Multicultural Day: There were various cultural performances and Henna Tattoo Stations at lunch on May 14th, 2009. Thank you to all involved with this event. Congratulations everyone, we raised a total of $30!
Spring Concert: ReachOut helped with the annual music department spring concert on April 27th, 2009. This year 50% of the donations went towards our cause, the other 50% went toward the music department. Thank you to all who attended and donated, all the volunteers, and all the amazing performers. Special thanks to Ms. Stewart for organizing the show and getting us involved! Congratulations everyone, we raised a total of $200!
24 hour Musical: Thank you to all who participated in the 24 hour musical. Also many thanks to everyone who pledged money, we collected over $100! Congratulations!
