This course requires the use of a graphic calculator.  The TI-83 (Plus) is recommended.  Calculators are available for rent from the school at a cost of $25.  A deposit cheque postdated for the end of the semester in the amount of $125 is required

 

Class Evaluation

1.         Unit Tests                           75%

2.         Assignments/Quizzes           10%

3.         In Class Final Exams           15%

 

The above class evaluation will be worth 60% of the final mark.  The government exam will be worth 40%.

 

Grading Outline

A            86  -  100%

B             73  -  85%

C+          67  -  72%

C            60  -  66%

C-           50  -  59%

I              0   -  49%

Attendance/Late Policy

1.         Any test, quiz, homework, or assignment missed due to absence or lateness will be scored zero unless an acceptable written reason is provided.

2.         Any failed test may be rewritten.  A maximum of 60% will be given on a retest.

2.         Missed material is the student’s responsibility.

3.         Absences in excess of 5 days may result in withdrawal from the course.

The student workbook “Theory and Problems for Senior High Math” is highly recommended.  The workbook is available for $25.
