 Surrey School District Programming for Students with Disabilities
Adapted Physical Activity (APA) is a district-wide program of the Surrey School District providing sport and recreation activities for students with disabilities. We have students with and without disabilities participating as athletes, volunteers, and instructors.
APA initiatives are:
APA Program Goals
- To CONNECT our students to local sport and health organizations that provide sport and recreation for students with disabilities.
- To SHOWCASE sport and recreation opportunities available in our community through annual events such as Game On and AIM Games.
- To PROVIDE opportunities for all students interested in leadership, volunteering, and instruction.
- To SUPPORT educators working with students in a PE class through in-services.
