The following lists of board committees and trustee representation are for 2012. Board committees are updated on our website each January. A print version ( PDF) is also available.

Board Committees

Board committees are ad hoc committees established for specific purposes and a specific length of time. Generally, committees appointed by the board are fact finding, deliberative and advisory rather than legislative or administrative.

Committee: All Trustees

Executive Committee attends all meetings.

Transportation Committee
Chair: T. Allen
Trustee: P. Glass

Membership: Trustees (2), Secretary-Treasurer & Manager of Transportation Services. Meets only when there are specific requests for transportation services. Mostly active in September and October.

Trustee Representation

Trustees represent the Surrey Board of Education through committee involvement, both within and outside of the district:

• Stakeholders & Elected Officials Liaison Meetings
• Advisory Committees for District Programs
• District Committees
• Trustee Representation on External Committees

Trustee Responsibilities as Board Representatives

1. Report out on committee activities at public board meetings.
2. If committee minutes are available, arrange to include them in the Trustees' Information Bulletin.
