About the district: We are the largest district in B.C. and one of few growing districts in the province. We have 124 schools located in Surrey and White Rock, and offer a wide range of education and support programs to students of all ages.
Student Vicky Liu's essay was chosen over about 1,000 other entries from across Canada as the top submission in the World Literacy of Canada’s Write/Right to Read writing contest. The contest was open to students in Grades 4 to 6, and Liu was in Grade 6.

Parents with three or four-year-old children are invited to attend a Ready, Set, Learn morning or afternoon program at a local elementary school. Ready, Set, Learn is a Ministry of Education sponsored program which informs parents of preschoolers on ways to prepare their child for school.

The Kwantlen Park cross country boys team continued its very successful season with a third place finish at the provincial championships at Crescent Park last week. The team has already claimed the titles of Surrey Champions and Fraser Valley Champions this year.
